Tintinnabuli nodes
Arvo Pärt's tintinnabuli technique — a systematic, stepwise M-voice and a T-voice drawn exclusively from one triad that shadows it. The minimalist complement to the Reich-style phasing in the counterpoint family.
| Node | Inputs | Outputs | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tintinnabuli Melody | number[] scale (PCs) number centre (mc) string process (outward / inward / ascending / descending / additive) number length |
midicents M-voice | Generate a Pärt-style M-voice: a stepwise diatonic melody built around a centre pitch by a systematic process — an outward oscillation (0, +1, −1, +2, −2…), its inward reverse, a scale run, or additive phrases that grow note by note. |
| Tintinnabuli Voice | midicents M-voice number triad root string quality (maj / min / dim / aug) string position (superior / inferior / alternating) number rank (1–3) |
midicents T-voice midicents M-voice (pass-through) |
Add the tintinnabuli (T-) voice that shadows a melody, drawing its notes only from one triad: for each melody note, the nearest triad pitch above (superior) or below (inferior), at the chosen rank, or alternating. Passes the M-voice through, so each wires to its own Voice node. |

The flagship: M-voice and T-voice in one node. Defaults to the iconic A-minor, outward, inferior 1st-position setting; every parameter is adjustable. |
